Fun light-and-sound toy for toddlers, that happens to be guitar-shaped Jun 29, 2009 We are musical people, and this caught my eye at a yard sale. We picked it up for less than the price here so it was definitely worth what we paid. That said, I read the other reviews and think that this toy is worth considering. True, if you were expecting a full-sized toy, this isn't it; and it's not much more than a music box with different buttons. But as simple as others may think it is, our 14 month-old likes to carry it around and "strum" the "strings" (ie push the button to get the music going) -- and she really does carry this around, compared to some other light-and-sound toys we have, ie a phone. Plus it's shaped well for her to easily grasp the handle, or the neck. She also enjoys turning the clear "frets" to get the balls rolling, and likes to watch the lights around the "tuning pegs" while the music plays. Oh, and the music it plays is catchier than other baby toys, which is kind of nice for grown-ups and for her. Finally, it has helped her learn the word for guitar, but that would probably have happened with any guitar-shaped toy. I do wish that the one-note/two-note switch did more than just play snippets of the song vs. the entire song, but, well, whatever.
I will add that my husband, who plays guitar, doesn't think this toy is all that and he looked over my shoulder just now and said, "Put in that it should be more like a real guitar." But for our little one's age, and her ability, I think this is right on.
Super tiny Jan 19, 2009 This guitar is way smaller than it appears. I wouldn't buy it for any kid over 9 mos.
Looks boring to me, but my son likes it Nov 20, 2008 I was not at all happy when this is what he picked from the store shelf. I tried to talk him into other things, but no, this is what he wanted. I was annoyed by paying over $10 for something that was just a plastic noisemaker. However, he does like it. At 2, he was old for such a baby toy, but when he watches the Imagination Movers, he has his guitar handy and jumps up to dance around with his guitar during the songs. So in the end, if he's happy, I'm happy.
Dada and Daughter make music together May 28, 2008 My daughter got this guitar when she was 12 months old. At the time she was not into it at all. It got shooved to the bottom of her toy box. My daughter is now 2 almost 3 yrs old, and recently found the guitar. she now plays with it almost everyday. She likes to turn on the music to dance. Also begs Dada to bring out his guitar to play with her. Extrememly happy that I kept this toy around!

Fun! Oct 26, 2007 My son loves this toy!!! He got it when he was six months old and is now 16 months and he still loves it. My son loves music so he plays it over and over and dances to it. Daddy has a guitar and now he has one too just like daddy.
